We want to be accepted like all others. We want to be what society tells us to be or how we should be. We want affirmations and praises from friends, family, teachers, society. And so we go and trade away the one and only true Gospel. We simply don't believe that we can find eternal love and everlasting life in His promise.
"When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God."-Galatians 4:4-7-
When you look at this verse, it shows us the sweet and savoring promises that God has given to us. When God has sent down his one and only son to die on the cross, He has rescued us in Christ. He paid our debt, bought our forgiveness, and given us freedom. We are no longer slaves to our sins. Secondly, we are in Christ who is our protector and provider, we go to Him to worship, pray, and seek for help. And lastly, He has promised us something well beyond our imagination; God himself. He's the most valuable, most satisfying , and most fulfilling reality there is.
Therefore, we cannot comprise the Gospel or leave it behind. We cannot conform to the flesh of this world. We need to be rooted in trust, grounded in wisdom, growing in grace, and be cultivated by Christ. And because we are sons and daughters of the Most High King, we are given the promise of his eternal love and everlasting life.
